Lisa is a writer, editor and communications strategist with more than 15 years of experience helping individuals, businesses and non-profits craft messages. She began her career working in public affairs and then on the alumni magazine for a large university. After moving to Charlotte, she worked in public relations for one of the city’s top-notch agencies (there was no Yellow Duck Marketing then, so it’s ok). She went on to work in the theme park industry, where she managed print and direct mail campaigns and collaborated on brand development for new products. (What’s more fun than doing market research for thrill rides?)

Since earning her MA in English literature from UNCC, she has taught writing, published fiction and creative non-fiction and continues to work as a freelance writer. When she’s not at the Duck Pond, you can find Lisa hanging out with her family or in a coffee shop with a hot drink, laptop and bad posture––just like the other writers.
