Hey there, I’m Laura! With nearly a decade under my belt at Yellow Duck, I proudly hold the title of Digital Director.

At YDM, I’ve helped dream up websites for Waverly, SunCap, the Hermes Award-Winning Catawba Lands Conservancy, and I even led the development of our impressive Project Wingspan. My focus is on user experience design, user interface design, WordPress magic, PHP sorcery, and email marketing.

When I graduated Virginia Tech with a marketing degree in [well do we really have to know the year], I ran in the opposite direction of my colleagues who went straight into sales. As a self-diagnosed introvert, I should have known better. In 2011, my husband Andrew and I moved to the “big city” and I honed my web design + dev skills at a top web design firm in Charlotte. Web design and development quickly became a passion, and I’m always up for a challenge.

When I’m not crushing it behind the computer or laughing at my own jokes, you’ll find me at home in Plaza Midwood with my family. A fun fact about me: I used to rock the role of Marketing Committee Chair and served on the Board of Directors for Supportive Housing Communities. Giving back is a big deal for me—I truly believe in making a positive impact in the community.
