Digital director
Laura Wyatt
Hey there, I’m Laura! I’ve spent over a decade now at Yellow Duck Marketing, where I proudly hold the title of Digital Director and resident tech problem-solver.
At YDM, I’ve helped dream up websites for Waverly, SunCap, the Hermes Award-Winning Catawba Lands Conservancy, and I even led the development of Project Wingspan. My focus is on user experience design, WordPress development, PHP, email marketing and overall digital problem-solving.
I graduated from Virginia Tech with a marketing degree (the year is irrelevant). I ran in the opposite direction of my colleagues who went straight into sales–turns out introverts don’t love doing pitches. In 2011, my husband Andrew and I moved to the “big city” where I honed my web design and dev skills at another local top design firm. Web design and development quickly became a passion, and something that still challenges me today.
When I’m not nose down in my laptop, you’ll find me at home in Plaza Midwood with my family. I live for outfit compliments from my coworkers and take pride in my polished personal style — I’ll happily dish out style advice and thrifting tips to anyone who asks. Giving back is an important value for me–I truly believe in making a positive impact in the community. I’ve previously held the role of Marketing Committee Chair and served on the Board of Directors for Supportive Housing Communities.
If you need a WordPress overhaul, online strategy advice, or style tips, I’m your person.
YEARS AT YDM: 12
Fun fact: I used to be the lead singer in a band.
