Welcome back to our 7th annual Duck Love Week! Every year since 2020, the ducks take this week to spread love and joy by giving back to our community and beyond. Duck Love Week is a tribute to our company’s anniversary and driven by a deep commitment to making a positive impact in our community. This year is extra special — it marks our 15th anniversary as a company, and we’re celebrating by doing what we do best: showing up for Charlotte. Once again, we set out to support organizations that make Charlotte (and the Carolinas) a stronger, kinder and more connected place to call home.
But this year, we did it a little differently. To celebrate 15 years, we chose 15 nonprofits to support. Every duck got to choose the cause that spoke to them, and teammates rallied around whatever their coworkers were passionate about. The result? A week where every single day looked different, driven by the causes our team cares about most.
Here’s who we had the privilege of supporting this year:
Classroom Central fosters equity in education by providing teachers and students with free resources, distributing tens of millions of dollars in school supplies across the Carolinas each year. We purchased and assembled school supplies for students in need.
Charlotte Mecklenburg Library Foundation connects the community to knowledge, literacy and lifelong learning through its network of branches across the county. We sorted book donations at the library administration center.
Nourish Up is the largest hunger-relief network in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg region, delivering groceries and meals to neighbors facing food insecurity. We delivered boxes of nonperishable food and fresh produce to numerous families in Charlotte.
The HEARTest Yard supports families of children born with congenital heart disease across the Carolinas with in-home nursing care and comprehensive medical services. We created care packages for families to provide comfort and encouragement.
Another Chance House of Refuge empowers underserved individuals through safe housing, educational support, employment training and self-sufficiency skills. We provided food and setup so neighbors could enjoy a warm meal.
Teal Diva supports women affected by gynecologic cancer, focusing on the mental and emotional well-being of survivors and their loved ones while spreading awareness and education. We packed up Teal Diva t-shirts for survivors.
Promising Pages, the Charlotte area’s book bank, collects new and donated books and shares them with children living in the region’s book deserts. We held a book drive in our office and donated books to the organization.
Daniel Stowe Conservancy preserves 380 acres of gardens, trails and lakefront near Charlotte, inviting the community to reconnect with nature. We worked alongside horticulture staff to maintain the gardens.
Roof Above unites the community to end homelessness one life at a time through outreach, shelter and permanent supportive housing. We assembled hundreds of sandwiches to help feed our neighbors.
Crisis Assistance Ministry provides assistance and advocacy for people in financial crisis, helping them move toward self-sufficiency. We held a clothing drive in the office and donated them to the organization.
Levine Children’s Hospital delivers world-class pediatric healthcare to kids and families throughout the region. We decorated ducks to cheer up children in the hospital.
Katie’s Krops empowers youth to start and maintain vegetable gardens and donate the harvest to help feed people in need. We picked produce that was distributed to families at a local YMCA.
Fostering the Family (Aiken/Edgefield chapter) strengthens foster, adoptive, and kinship families so vulnerable children have places of belonging and support. We cleaned up the clothes closet and organized donations.
Lowcountry Orphan Relief provides essential items like clothing, shoes, toiletries and school supplies to children who have experienced abuse or neglect. We donated items for school backpacks.
Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation creates and maintains parks, greenways, and recreational spaces that connect the community to the outdoors. We picked up trash at Freedom Park.
We are so grateful to be able to make an impact on our communities through volunteer work!
