Yellow Duck Marketing was chosen to coordinate and execute a 3-year strategic plan with TreesCharlotte. A Charlotte nonprofit dedicated to expanding and preserving the Queen City’s tree canopy, TreesCharlotte was in need of innovative ways to engage and expand its volunteer and donor base as well as develop marketing materials they were sorely lacking. Due to TreesCharlotte wanting to keep their staff lean, it was important for them to have a team capable of handling the follow-through for the ideas we provided to them.

As a result of our efforts, website traffic and unique users have more than doubled year over year. We grew Facebook followers from 400 to more than 3,200 and increased engagement by 10x. We utilized cost-effective Facebook advertising to promote TreesCharlotte’s Citywide Free Tree Store, attracting hundreds of people and allowing the non-profit to give away nearly 1,000 trees in less than two hours, as well as to promote their tree gifting program, which raised thousands for the nonprofit.

We upgraded their quarterly newsletter to a sleeker, more upscale design, along with a monthly e-newsletter, which reaches nearly 3,500 subscribers each month. Other print collateral we’ve designed includes a membership brochure, corporate sponsorship booklet, endowment campaign brochure, advertising, kids’ activity sheets and thank you cards.

A variety of press releases and pitches to the media has resulted in 100+ instances of coverage, including the Charlotte Observer, SouthPark Magazine, Charlotte Magazine, Charlotte Parent, South Charlotte Weekly, Ballantyne Magazine, Charlotte Agenda, Charlotte Five, Charlotte Viewpoint, Scoop Charlotte, My School Rocks, WCNC, Fox 46 Carolinas, WFAE, WBT, Lake Wylie Pilot and QC Exclusive, among others.
