New Friends

Our graphic designers regularly wow us with their artistic skills! Logo design continues to be a highly requested part of the branding work we do. We completed 34 logos for clients in 2018, helping them build strong brands to accomplish their goals. Check out some of our favorites in our portfolio.

Say My Name

Where does the inspiration for a great name come from? Sometimes it presents itself in client conversations, while flipping through a magazine or being out and about in the world. Yet often, there are hours of competition research involved and lots of digging into different aspects of a business to find the perfect name that highlights what makes it stand apart. In 2018, we named 19 companies, communities and properties including New Brunswick Village in Spanish Town, Jamaica, Turquesa in Santa Fe, New Mexico; Rivington in Debary, Florida; and Tennyson, a new home community coming to Matthews.

Cruising the Web

We don’t mean to ruffle any feathers, but building websites is an area where we shine. This past year, we completed 21 web design projects to connect brands with their customers wherever they might be!

The Digital Screen

Videos bring hard-to-understand concepts to life, provide personality and, when done right, evoke emotion! They’re also a great tool to share your organization’s message. In 2018, we used our in-house video production and motion graphics animation abilities to produce leasing/lifestyle videos, a holiday card video for Newark Academy in NJ, six motion graphic videos for JLL’s Instagram and 15 videos for Waverly for use on the mixed-use development’s video screen kiosks and shopping center social media accounts.

Party Animals

The ducks know how to get our guests shaking their tail feathers on the dance floor and down the runway! In 2018, we planned and hosted events attracting more than 4,000 guests, including five concerts and a fashion show at south Charlotte’s Waverly! We also brought back successful events to the community such as Halloween at Waverly, Winter Wednesdays at Waverly and the always cute Puppy Bowl. We also hosted popups and community meetings throughout the area as part of listening outreach campaigns.

New Quacks in the Pond

As our business has grown, so has the Duck Team! 2018 brought Account Director Amanda Adams-Thompson and Graphic and Digital Designer Katie Kinard splashing up to our shore.

Give a Duck

Life’s too short not to paddle toward a positive purpose! Over the last 12 months, we dove deep into our community, donating $40K in pro bono services to nonprofits, including creating a website for the Carolina Thread Trail. As a team, we spent time doing planting and gardening work around the Howard Levine Child Development Center, a part of the Renaissance West Community Initiative in Charlotte, and held community servant leadership positions with Cub Scouts, YMCA, ACE Youth Development and Catawba Lands Conservancy. The company also donates 10 percent of its net income to charity.
